No Where to Go

Location:  Colorado, Sangre de Cristo Wilderness

We had camped in the only semi-flat and snow-free area at the top of the ravine in June.  Our morning hike was plagued by threatening clouds, and we didn’t even make it back to the tent before the huge hailstorm pounded us.  The subsequent afternoon rain left us tent-bound, gazing at maps and compass – but with no where to go in the deluge.
